Standard Motor Products Expands its Use of Logility Voyager Solutions?
Supply chain planning software will improve performance-based management,
inventory management and collaboration with key customers and suppliers
Atlanta (September 26, 2005) – Logility, Inc. (NASDAQ: LGTY), a leading supplier of collaborative solutions to optimize the supply chain, today announced that Standard Motor Products, Inc. (NYSE: SMP), a leading independent automotive parts manufacturer and distributor in the aftermarket industry, has extended its use of Logility Voyager Solutions to meet new inventory management demands brought on by its acquisition of the Engine Management Division of Dana Corporation (DEM) in 2003 and to proactively monitor supply chain performance and automate collaboration with key customers and suppliers.
“Over the past eight years, Logility Voyager Solutions have allowed Standard Motor Products to reduce inventory while maintaining high service levels for our engine management division,” said Eric Sills, general manager, Engine Management Division, Standard Motor Products. “With our DEM acquisition in 2003, our business has grown significantly and we have experienced more demand volatility along with a significant increase in SKU volumes. Logility Voyager Solutions will expand our capabilities and enable us to cost-effectively manage these market dynamics which will in turn help us optimize inventory investments and deliver superior customer service.”
Standard Motor Products will leverage Voyager Demand Planning, Inventory Planning and Replenishment Planning to improve their overall supply chain performance and help keep the demand planning team focused on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); to continue to accurately forecast future demand and optimize inventory investments; to streamline new product introductions and old product retirements; and to collaborate with key customers and suppliers to better integrate their businesses. Voyager Supply Planning will be used to help balance distribution centers and reduce total supply chain costs. Voyager Global Sourcing Management will enable Standard Motor Products to improve visibility into supplier operations across its global supply network.
“Logility is very experienced at helping aftermarket service parts companies gain visibility of future customer demand; manage time-phased inventory and replenishment requirements; and optimize distribution and inventory deployment to cost-effectively service their customers,” said Mike Edenfield, president and CEO of Logility. “We are pleased that Standard Motor Products has achieved significant benefits through its use of Logility Voyager Solutions over the past eight years and look forward to Standard’s future success as Logility expands into other areas of operations.”
Logility offers a complete service parts management solution that spans the global supply chain, demand, inventory and replenishment planning; manufacturing planning and global sourcing; transportation planning and execution and warehouse management.
